Irene Osprey

Irene was born, raised and educated in Scotland. She has a BSc. from Glasgow University and a Diploma of Education from Strathclyde University. Irene came to Canada in 2003.

She has trained for theatre and film with Heather Markgraf –Lowe, Mary Vuorela, Gordon McCall, Shimon Aviel, Bob Vernicks, Paul Hopkins, Sandra Owen, Sharon Weiner, Marion Siminski, Rea Nolan and Julia Lenardon.

Irene works professionally as an actor, in film and theatre. Selected theatre credits include, Countess Henslowe in Elizabeth Rex (Table D’Hote Theatre), at The Segal Centre. Charles in Joan of Arc (NTS), Ethel in On Golden Pond (Hudson Players Club), M’Lynn in Steel Magnolias (Lakeshore Players), Rose in The Riversmead Affair (Theatre Panache), Goody in Beauty and the Beast (Hudson Village Theatre), Janet in Waiting for the Parade (Stone Soup Productions) and Deedra in Always a Bridesmaid (Stone Soup Productions). Recent film credits include, The Will , Being Human and Fatal Vows. For those who enjoy video games Irene plays the part of Agnes McBean in the latest “Assassins Creed” game called “Syndicate”.

Irene has also worked behind the scenes as a Stage Manager and as a writer. She is co-author of The Riversmead Trilogy (Theatre Panache). She is also a co-founder of Stone Soup Productions’.

Irene also works for Hudson Productions in the training of Border Services officers and for the University of McGill in their medical training programme.

Irene has been a member of HPC for many years and has taken part in many of their productions. She is delighted to be “On the main stage”, for them, once again and is thoroughly enjoying the experience, working with such a talented, director, cast and crew.
